Maths Assessment and Tutoring

An early understanding of the key number concepts is vital to allow children to achieve across many subject areas in years to come. Fun investigate work, balanced with rigorous teaching of number facts (such as number bonds and times tables) build the foundations to allow children to become excellent mathematicians. 

Assessment 

A short assessment of your child's understanding of number is carried out over a video call with your child. This then allows me to identify their strengths, any areas of difficulty and next steps. 

The outcomes are fed back to parents in a written summary (or by phone or video call appointment if preferred). I offer this as a stand alone session as it may be that you then wish to use this information to support your child without any additional tutoring.

1:1 Tuition 

This involves a weekly 30 minutes video call with your child, the content of which will be tailored to your child, using their assessment as a starting point. It will include a mixture of basic number work and application of this to problem solving activities. I will then provide follow up tasks in a shared google folder. The amount of work involved in these tasks will be planned around how much time you would like your child to spend on this each week. You will be able to share pictures of their work in the folder and I will provide feedback and plan the following session, responding to your individual child's needs.  

£180 for a block of six weeks.
